The owners of a Seattle home took a look at their return air system and solved a mystery. Now they knew why the downstairs hallway seemed so cold in the winter. An air exchange was dead-heading into a basement bathroom closet! So the homeowners called MM Comfort Systems to see if there was anything they could do. Our residential HVAC professionals visited the customer’s home in the 98112 area and provided a quote that would resolve the existing duct work issues. The job required a duct work upgrade only, so the homeowners were happy they didn’t have to replace any other major systems.
After discussing their options with our crew, the Seattle homeowners decided to have the register rerouted from the basement closet to the downstairs stairway. They also decided to install another air return shoe in the basement bedroom. We increased the air flow to the upstairs, as well, so the homeowners could have another register installed if they wanted to. We were able to get all the parts needed here in Seattle, at the local Gensco wholesaler. That saved a lot of time and money for our customers, as well.
