Tax credit savings information

Energy efficiency tax credits

The latest stimulus bill extends energy efficiency federal tax credits into 2010 and boosts the highest dollar amount allowed to $1,500 for energy efficiency appliances. This includes the purchase of  qualified equipment and switching from electric to natural gas home and / or water heating.  Heating your home can account for up to 50 percent of your energy bill. Replacing an inefficient system, in addition to properly sealing and insulating, can increase comfort, air quality and save you money each winter.

Local utilities also offer a variety of rebates ranging from $250-$2,500 for high-efficiency heating systems.
