Are heating leaks costing you money? |
The battle against air leaks is heating up. There is a growing awareness that leaky duct work and/or furnace cabinets waste energy (and in turn your money). Leaky systems may also compromise indoor air quality and comfort.
A variety of approaches to reducing leakage are available. Technically astute companies with an emphasis on Home Performance (MM Comfort Systems, for example) have the equipment and expertise to pressure test and seal duct work in existing homes. Experience has shown us that significant leakage reduction is accomplished with a traditional furnace replacement alone. This is because current manufacturing standards are much tighter and furnaces no longer leak like they used to.
Consumers should know the pending Washington State Energy Code would require duct testing / sealing as part of any furnace replacement. Although testing / sealing is a good idea, we oppose making it a requirement because not all consumers can afford the extra cost and deserve the right to decide for themselves.
Let MM Comfort Systems help take care of your heating needs; we have been offering heating services in the Seattle area since 1977 and have offices in Redmond & Sumner. Call 425.881.7920 or use our online contact form today for more information on Heating Service and Repair.
